William John Violin
William John was born in London in 1961. In 1977 he started working at Ealing Strings, one of Europe`s largest workshops. Working alongside Paul Ayres and Thomas Pilar from the famous Bohemian Violin making family, William gained vast knowledge from makers such as Premysl Spidlen and the late William Luff.
William concentrated on the detailed restoration of fine Cremonese Instruments such as Stradivari, Guarneri, Amati, Bergonzi and many other great Italian, English and French master Violin makers of the 17th and 18th Century.
Luthier William John. known for his work meticulously recreating violins of the old, Italian masters, demonstrates that skill with this copy of the Joseph Guarnerius " Heifetz- ex. David C. 1740".
The original by Joseph Guarneri, made in 1741 - 42, was used by Jascha Heifetz for all his concert and recorded work after he purchased in 1922.
