Ed Campbell was mostly self-taught, and he owned and operated The Chimneys Violin Shops in Pennsylvania and Arizona. He was a founding member of the Violin Society of America. During his career he crafted over 180 instruments.

Roman Teller operated a violin workshop in Germany. Rudolph Bruchner, his son-in-law took over the business, then later Bruchner's son-in-law went on to run the shop in recent years and maintained the company's legacy.
